Jacey Chronicles: Puddles to Plop in

Today was our first ever Popi's Picnic for PALS, an BBQ fundraiser benifiting the ALS Association. It turned out to be a fairly rainy day but luckily, Nan and Lee set up their big canopy to keep our duds dry. Not so much for the babies though. My child wore 7 different outfits today, several of them due to the fact that he spent most of the day and evening in Lake Johnson, the large runoff puddle in our drive. We have a handicap accessible ramp to our front door that messes with the drainage flow of our yard, causing several inches of water to build up right in the drive when we have a little bit of rain.

The rest of the outfits, he pee'd in. The first time, he stepped onto the back porch and put his naked foot into my rock fountain. The very cold water enticed him to pee. A couple other times, he got so interested in what he was doing that he forgot (or ignored) that he needed to pee. I felt like a terrible mother too because I would normally just take him when there is too much distraction for him to remind me on his own but I was so distracted (no doubt by the margaritas) that I didn't take him like I should have. Still, the potty training has been going great. Until today, we haven't had an accident in over a week. I will do better tomorrow, I promise!
