BEARS

The Trip

I have been planning a trip from my home in Round Rock Texas to Illinois. The purpose of the trip is to take my sister’s ashes, who recently passed away, and to have a memorial service for her at the family cemetery, My daughter was planning on going with me,

My daughter suggested that we go to see the Chicago Bears while we are back in Illinois. Now let me explain how that I am a very big fan of the Bears. I was raised in Illinois and watched all the Bears greats play, Butkis, Bafune, Ford, Douglas, Payton and Singeltary. I have always suffered from serious antagonism living in the heart of Texas. I hate Cowboys and love Bears, almost a more severe ailment than ALS if gauged by my friends and workmates. I still look back to the 1985 Bears and it still gives me happiness and satisfaction. I am 53 and have never been to a pro game. I have seldom missed a Bears game on the tube and am always cheering for the Bears even when they are getting beaten.

In December the Bears will play the Rams on Monday Night Football and I will be there! I am excited beyond belief. I am taking my Bipap and power wheel chair and flying home to see relatives and friends and will also get to see my Dream Team play. Life does not get better!

This Damn disease has taken my arms, neck, clear speech, breathing, and the ability to eat normally, and every day it is right there promising to take another piece of my body. I am so fortunate to have such a loving family and daily praise God for my family and the ability to watch their lives with a very special sense of appreciation.

It is important to live a little while we still can enjoy it most.

GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Change in plans... I got us tickets to see the Bears play Monday night in Glendale, Arizona... just 36 rows back from field level! You can view our section at
Section 125, Row 36
These seats are close enough that our ugly mugs may end up on TV! We may even get some pics of the players and probably some autographs. :)
