Birthday Bash

Dad has survived another year on this earth with unnatural natural gas and one crazy kooky family. We spent the weekend celebrating his special day a month late since he was gallivanting across the country (to Nebraska for the Hosier gals birthday party) on the actual day, September 16. He officially rang in his 53rd year and it's off to a good (albeit late) start.

Cook Clan at Cracker Barrel

Nan and Lee came up from New Braunfels and we had brunch at dad's favorite home cooking stop, Cracker Barrel. We spent the early part of the afternoon doing a little work at the new house then went to see a movie. Dad and the boys (Lee & Russ) saw Invincible and Mom, Nan, and I took J & J to see Open Season. Much fun was had by all. We convened back at the house for birthday cake, pizza, chicken and beef pot pies, and presents. (Not necessarily in that order.)

Dad Blowing Out the Candles, with a Little Help from Short Man

Dad got a fabu new rocker/glider/recliner chair that not only supports his neck and is squishy comfortable BUT Nan was able to find it in leather-ish material, making it easier for him to get in and out of since his butt can slide on the seat a bit. He also got a new laptop, which we all suspect mom will use, and some other odds and ends. As soon as I can, I will post some pics from the party.

Happy Birthday, daddy!

Love, Tika
